Before using OptimUSB the.tracktitle files were visible on the MMI and if selected the MMI would just pause for a second, realise it isn't an audio track and then select another track. Only once have I seen it play 1 track but display another; it was as if the display and playback were out of sync. A 3-button MMI reboot sorted that and have never seen it since. The MMI does put a hidden file on the SD card and I found it it did sometimes get upset if either the write protect tab was on, or I added tracks to an SD card which had already been in the MMI.

In MMI the SW number is C6-HU 6362 07.4.0 0444, which is a strange software version number when comparing with what other audi owners post on the web. I’m wondering if it is a different software version regime because of its Japanese origination or language pack. I want to upgrade my MMI system using the MMI 2G software update to version 5570 via the red screen and loading the cd’s one by one (3 in total). I’m hoping this will overwrite the japanese language pack currently loaded onto my MMI system. Do I load the Euro version or is their an Aus NZ version I should be looking for? Hi, i have tried updating my mmi 2g high and cd1 went successful, i then put in cd2 which came up with a fail and asked if i wanted to retry,i clicked on retry and it just froze, left it for hours and nothing happened,even taking key out it stayed on, in the end i had to disconnect battery, now the mmi boots up but radio etc works then goes off for a second etc, whenever i try to do anything it just keeps jumping,it doesn’t display anything anymore for heated seats a/c,parking etc, and if i try the update again it just stays on reading meta data information and does not change, please help.

Anyone (who's done it or works at a dealership) could point me in the right direction please? I've tried to update my own map and MMI on my 2012 Audi A4 but I learned that Audi dealership used encrypted electronic product key on every software update via dealership to ensure no tampering, piracy, a most likely profit. Dealership would have their own unique ID to login to Audi repository website and only then they can purchase the digital product key, download the actual product update, and then install it. I read somewhere on Audi forum that you can buy a device from China that allow you to spoof the dealer ID key, get access to repository, and download your updates for your specific car but it seems legally questionable and I didn't want to spend 200 dollars for the device that might not work.
